For Christ died and rose to life in order to be the Lord of the living and of the dead.

Don't you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and who was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourselves but to God;

he bought you for a price. So use your bodies for God's glory.

He died for all, so that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but only for him who died and was raised to life for their sake.

So far as the Law is concerned, however, I am dead---killed by the Law itself---in order that I might live for God. I have been put to death with Christ on his cross,

so that it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. This life that I live now, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave his life for me.

My deep desire and hope is that I shall never fail in my duty, but that at all times, and especially right now, I shall be full of courage, so that with my whole being I shall bring honor to Christ, whether I live or die.

But if by continuing to live I can do more worthwhile work, then I am not sure which I should choose.

but for your sake it is much more important that I remain alive.

who died for us in order that we might live together with him, whether we are alive or dead when he comes.

He gave himself for us, to rescue us from all wickedness and to make us a pure people who belong to him alone and are eager to do good.

From now on, then, you must live the rest of your earthly lives controlled by God's will and not by human desires.
