After everyone had gone a long time without food, Paul stood before them and said, "You should have listened to me and not have sailed from Crete; then we would have avoided all this damage and loss.

For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I worship came to me

So take courage, men! For I trust in God that it will be just as I was told.

Joseph answered, "I cannot, Your Majesty, but God will give a favorable interpretation."

The thin cows ate up the fat ones,

and the thin heads of grain swallowed the full ones. I told the dreams to the magicians, but none of them could explain them to me."

But Elisha sent word to the king of Israel, warning him not to go near that place, because the Syrians were waiting in ambush there.

So the king of Israel warned the people who lived in that place, and they were on guard. This happened several times.

The LORD is the friend of those who obey him and he affirms his covenant with them.

Now, this mystery was revealed to me, not because I am wiser than anyone else, but so that Your Majesty may learn the meaning of your dream and understand the thoughts that have come to you.

The Sovereign LORD never does anything without revealing his plan to his servants, the prophets.

For many days we could not see the sun or the stars, and the wind kept on blowing very hard. We finally gave up all hope of being saved.

But the ship hit a sandbank and went aground; the front part of the ship got stuck and could not move, while the back part was being broken to pieces by the violence of the waves.

But the army officer wanted to save Paul, so he stopped them from doing this. Instead, he ordered everyone who could swim to jump overboard first and swim ashore;

As the scripture says, "It is difficult for good people to be saved; what, then, will become of godless sinners?"
