When the people heard this, they were deeply troubled and said to Peter and the other apostles, "What shall we do, brothers?"

"But get up and go into the city, where you will be told what you must do."

And so I sent for you at once, and you have been good enough to come. Now we are all here in the presence of God, waiting to hear anything that the Lord has instructed you to say."

Then he led them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"

Because the LORD is righteous and good, he teaches sinners the path they should follow.

He leads the humble in the right way and teaches them his will.

Remind me each morning of your constant love, for I put my trust in you. My prayers go up to you; show me the way I should go.

You are my God; teach me to do your will. Be good to me, and guide me on a safe path.

"In that city was a man named Ananias, a religious man who obeyed our Law and was highly respected by all the Jews living there.

He said, 'The God of our ancestors has chosen you to know his will, to see his righteous Servant, and to hear him speaking with his own voice.

And now, why wait any longer? Get up and be baptized and have your sins washed away by praying to him.'

But get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as my servant. You are to tell others what you have seen of me today and what I will show you in the future.

You are to open their eyes and turn them from the darkness to the light and from the power of Satan to God, so that through their faith in me they will have their sins forgiven and receive their place among God's chosen people.'
