That very same hour she arrived and gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were waiting for God to set Jerusalem free.

"Go back home and tell what God has done for you." The man went through the town, telling what Jesus had done for him.

And so I am thankful and glad, and I feel completely secure,

because you protect me from the power of death. I have served you faithfully, and you will not abandon me to the world of the dead.

Come and listen, all who honor God, and I will tell you what he has done for me.

You have taught me ever since I was young, and I still tell of your wonderful acts.

Now that I am old and my hair is gray, do not abandon me, O God! Be with me while I proclaim your power and might to all generations to come.

Then the people who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD listened and heard what they said. In his presence, there was written down in a book a record of those who feared the LORD and respected him.

At once he found his brother Simon and told him, "We have found the Messiah." (This word means "Christ.")

The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, "Come with me!"

Philip found Nathanael and told him, "We have found the one whom Moses wrote about in the book of the Law and whom the prophets also wrote about. He is Jesus son of Joseph, from Nazareth."

Then the woman left her water jar, went back to the town, and said to the people there,

"Come and see the man who told me everything I have ever done. Could he be the Messiah?"
