Send the people away, and let them go to the nearby farms and villages in order to buy themselves something to eat."

"You yourselves give them something to eat," Jesus answered. They asked, "Do you want us to go and spend two hundred silver coins on bread in order to feed them?"

because they had not understood the real meaning of the feeding of the five thousand; their minds could not grasp it.

Moses said to the LORD, "Here I am leading 600,000 people, and you say that you will give them enough meat for a month?

"Is there a limit to my power?" the LORD answered. "You will soon see whether what I have said will happen or not!"

Another time, a man came from Baal Shalishah, bringing Elisha twenty loaves of bread made from the first barley harvested that year, and some freshly-cut heads of grain. Elisha told his servant to feed the group of prophets with this,

So the servant set the food before them, and as the LORD had said, they all ate, and there was still some left over.

The personal attendant of the king said to Elisha, "That can't happen---not even if the LORD himself were to send grain at once!" "You will see it happen, but you won't get to eat any of the food," Elisha replied.

They spoke against God and said, "Can God supply food in the desert?

It is true that he struck the rock, and water flowed out in a torrent; but can he also provide us with bread and give his people meat?"

The disciples asked him, "Where will we find enough food in this desert to feed this crowd?"

Philip answered, "For everyone to have even a little, it would take more than two hundred silver coins to buy enough bread."

"There is a boy here who has five loaves of barley bread and two fish. But they will certainly not be enough for all these people."
