Leviticus 18:6-23

The LORD gave the following regulations. Do not have sexual intercourse with any of your relatives.

Do not disgrace your father by having intercourse with your mother. You must not disgrace your own mother.
8
Do not disgrace your father by having intercourse with any of his other wives.

Do not have intercourse with your sister or your stepsister, whether or not she was brought up in the same house with you.
10
Do not have intercourse with your granddaughter; that would be a disgrace to you.
11
Do not have intercourse with a half sister; she, too, is your sister.

Do not have intercourse with an aunt, whether she is your father's sister or your mother's sister.

Do not have intercourse with your uncle's wife; she, too, is your aunt.

Do not have intercourse with the daughter or granddaughter of a woman with whom you have had intercourse; they may be related to you, and that would be incest.

Do not take your wife's sister as one of your wives, as long as your wife is living.

Do not have intercourse with a woman during her monthly period, because she is ritually unclean.

Do not have intercourse with another man's wife; that would make you ritually unclean.
21
Do not hand over any of your children to be used in the worship of the god Molech, because that would bring disgrace on the name of God, the LORD.

No man is to have sexual relations with another man; God hates that.
23
No man or woman is to have sexual relations with an animal; that perversion makes you ritually unclean.

In this way the teaching you pass on to others cancels out the word of God. And there are many other things like this that you do."

Then Jesus called the crowd to him once more and said to them, "Listen to me, all of you, and understand.

There is nothing that goes into you from the outside which can make you ritually unclean. Rather, it is what comes out of you that makes you unclean."

When he left the crowd and went into the house, his disciples asked him to explain this saying.

"You are no more intelligent than the others," Jesus said to them. "Don't you understand? Nothing that goes into you from the outside can really make you unclean,

because it does not go into your heart but into your stomach and then goes on out of the body." (In saying this, Jesus declared that all foods are fit to be eaten.)

And he went on to say, "It is what comes out of you that makes you unclean.

For from the inside, from your heart, come the evil ideas which lead you to do immoral things, to rob, kill,
22
commit adultery, be greedy, and do all sorts of evil things; deceit, indecency, jealousy, slander, pride, and folly---

all these evil things come from inside you and make you unclean."

God will destroy anyone who destroys God's temple. For God's temple is holy, and you yourselves are his temple.

Do not adopt the customs of the people who live there; I am driving out those pagans so that you can enter the land. They have disgusted me with all their evil practices.

Do not worship the LORD your God in the way they worship their gods, for in the worship of their gods they do all the disgusting things that the LORD hates. They even sacrifice their children in the fires on their altars.
Deuteronomy 18:12
The LORD your God hates people who do these disgusting things, and that is why he is driving those nations out of the land as you advance.
