Every star and every constellation will stop shining, the sun will be dark when it rises, and the moon will give no light.

King of Babylon, bright morning star, you have fallen from heaven! In the past you conquered nations, but now you have been thrown to the ground.

long ago you created the earth, and with your own hands you made the heavens.

They will disappear, but you will remain; they will all wear out like clothes. You will discard them like clothes, and they will vanish.

I looked at the earth---it was a barren waste; at the sky---there was no light.

I looked at the mountains---they were shaking, and the hills were rocking back and forth.

When I destroy you, I will cover the sky and blot out the stars. The sun will hide behind the clouds, and the moon will give no light.

I will put out all the lights of heaven and plunge your world into darkness. I, the Sovereign LORD, have spoken.

"I will give warnings of that day in the sky and on the earth; there will be bloodshed, fire, and clouds of smoke.

The sun will be darkened, and the moon will turn red as blood before the great and terrible day of the LORD comes.

The sun and the moon grow dark, and the stars no longer shine.

"Soon after the trouble of those days, the sun will grow dark, the moon will no longer shine, the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers in space will be driven from their courses.

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

"In the days after that time of trouble the sun will grow dark, the moon will no longer shine,

the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers in space will be driven from their courses.

I will perform miracles in the sky above and wonders on the earth below. There will be blood, fire, and thick smoke;

the sun will be darkened, and the moon will turn red as blood, before the great and glorious Day of the Lord comes.

But the heavens and the earth that now exist are being preserved by the same command of God, in order to be destroyed by fire. They are being kept for the day when godless people will be judged and destroyed.

The Lord is not slow to do what he has promised, as some think. Instead, he is patient with you, because he does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants all to turn away from their sins.

Since all these things will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people should you be? Your lives should be holy and dedicated to God,

The stars fell down to the earth, like unripe figs falling from the tree when a strong wind shakes it.

The sky disappeared like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place.

Then the fourth angel blew his trumpet. A third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that their light lost a third of its brightness; there was no light during a third of the day and a third of the night also.

Then I saw a great white throne and the one who sits on it. Earth and heaven fled from his presence and were seen no more.
