All of Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the LORD had come down on it in fire. The smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace, and all the people trembled violently.

After Moses had gone in, the pillar of cloud would come down and stay at the door of the Tent, and the LORD would speak to Moses from the cloud.

I will come down and speak with you there, and I will take some of the spirit I have given you and give it to them. Then they can help you bear the responsibility for these people, and you will not have to bear it alone.

Then the LORD came down in the cloud and spoke to him. He took some of the spirit he had given to Moses and gave it to the seventy leaders. When the spirit came on them, they began to shout like prophets, but not for long.

As the priests were leaving the Temple, it was suddenly filled with a cloud

Then Solomon prayed: "You, LORD, have placed the sun in the sky, yet you have chosen to live in clouds and darkness.

While he was still speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them with its shadow; and the disciples were afraid as the cloud came over them.

A voice said from the cloud, "This is my Son, whom I have chosen---listen to him!"

The LORD answered, "I will make all my splendor pass before you and in your presence I will pronounce my sacred name. I am the LORD, and I show compassion and pity on those I choose.

So now, LORD, I pray, show us your power and do what you promised when you said,

I will praise the name of the LORD, and his people will tell of his greatness.

And so his name will be proclaimed in Zion, and he will be praised in Jerusalem

The LORD is like a strong tower, where the righteous can go and be safe.

Jerusalem, your rulers and your people are like those of Sodom and Gomorrah. Listen to what the LORD is saying to you. Pay attention to what our God is teaching you.
