Lift up your walking stick and hold it out over the sea. The water will divide, and the Israelites will be able to walk through the sea on dry ground.

The LORD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron to take his stick and hold it out over all the rivers, canals, and pools in Egypt. The water will become blood, and all over the land there will be blood, even in the wooden tubs and stone jars."

The LORD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron to hold out his walking stick over the rivers, the canals, and the pools, and make frogs come up and cover the land of Egypt."

Everyone was amazed. "What kind of man is this?" they said. "Even the winds and the waves obey him!"

Finally the king issued a command to all his people: "Take every newborn Hebrew boy and throw him into the Nile, but let all the girls live."

He ran away, but they chased him, caught him, and cut off his thumbs and big toes.

Adonibezek said, "Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off have picked up scraps under my table. God has now done to me what I did to them." He was taken to Jerusalem, where he died.

for God will judge you in the same way you judge others, and he will apply to you the same rules you apply to others.

For God will not show mercy when he judges the person who has not been merciful; but mercy triumphs over judgment.

They poured out the blood of God's people and of the prophets, and so you have given them blood to drink. They are getting what they deserve!"
