His angel guards those who honor the LORD and rescues them from danger.

Be my secure shelter and a strong fortress to protect me; you are my refuge and defense.

"Don't be afraid," Elisha answered. "We have more on our side than they have on theirs."

Then he prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes and let him see!" The LORD answered his prayer, and Elisha's servant looked up and saw the hillside covered with horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

and said to him, "If you are God's Son, throw yourself down, for the scripture says, 'God will give orders to his angels about you; they will hold you up with their hands, so that not even your feet will be hurt on the stones.' "

For the scripture says, 'God will order his angels to take good care of you.'

It also says, 'They will hold you up with their hands so that not even your feet will be hurt on the stones.' "

What are the angels, then? They are spirits who serve God and are sent by him to help those who are to receive salvation.

Remember the LORD in everything you do, and he will show you the right way.

Those who go to Egypt for help are doomed! They are relying on Egypt's vast military strength---horses, chariots, and soldiers. But they do not rely on the LORD, the holy God of Israel, or ask him for help.
