After this, Abram had a vision and heard the LORD say to him, "Do not be afraid, Abram. I will shield you from danger and give you a great reward."

God has always been your defense; his eternal arms are your support. He drove out your enemies as you advanced, and told you to destroy them all.

They protected us day and night the whole time we were with them looking after our flocks.

You bless those who obey you, LORD; your love protects them like a shield.

His angel guards those who honor the LORD and rescues them from danger.

Why did you break down the fences around it? Now anyone passing by can steal its grapes;

He dug the soil and cleared it of stones; he planted the finest vines. He built a tower to guard them, dug a pit for treading the grapes. He waited for the grapes to ripen, but every grape was sour.

"Here is what I am going to do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge around it, break down the wall that protects it, and let wild animals eat it and trample it down.

The LORD has promised that he himself will be a wall of fire around the city to protect it and that he will live there in all his glory."

Anyone who strikes you strikes what is most precious to me." So the LORD Almighty sent me with this message for the nations that had plundered his people:

You will make me greater than ever; you will comfort me again.

Your wife will be like a fruitful vine in your home, and your children will be like young olive trees around your table.

The LORD blessed the last part of Job's life even more than he had blessed the first. Job owned fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, two thousand head of cattle, and one thousand donkeys.

Isaac sowed crops in that land, and that year he harvested a hundred times as much as he had sown, because the LORD blessed him.

Lord our God, may your blessings be with us. Give us success in all we do!
