In the fifth year of Rehoboam's reign King Shishak of Egypt attacked Jerusalem.

He took away all the treasures in the Temple and in the palace, including the gold shields Solomon had made.

So King Asa took all the silver and gold that was left in the Temple and the palace, and sent it by some of his officials to Damascus, to King Benhadad of Syria, the son of Tabrimmon and grandson of Hezion, with this message:

Ahaz took the silver and gold from the Temple and the palace treasury, and sent it as a present to the emperor.

Hezekiah sent him all the silver in the Temple and in the palace treasury;

he also stripped the gold from the temple doors and the gold with which he himself had covered the doorposts, and he sent it all to Sennacherib.

The enemies robbed her of all her treasures. She saw them enter the Temple itself, Where the LORD had forbidden Gentiles to go.

Solomon made two hundred large shields, each of which was covered with about fifteen pounds of beaten gold,

and three hundred smaller shields, each covered with about eight pounds of beaten gold. He had them all placed in the Hall of the Forest of Lebanon.

Solomon made two hundred large shields and had each one overlaid with almost fifteen pounds of gold.

He also made three hundred smaller shields, overlaying each one of them with nearly four pounds of gold. He had all these shields placed in the Hall of the Forest of Lebanon.
