Then David took an oath again, and said, "Your father certainly knows that I have found favor in your eyes, and he has said, 'Do not let Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved.' But truly, [as] the LORD lives and [as] your soul lives, [there is] but a step between me and death."

And Saul swore to her by the LORD, saying, "[As] the LORD lives, no punishment shall come upon you for this thing."

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by [your] good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.

having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.

"who may go out before them and go in before them, who may lead them out and bring them in, that the congregation of the LORD may not be like sheep which have no shepherd."

"Surely you realize that Abner the son of Ner came to deceive you, to know your going out and your coming in, and to know all that you are doing."
