Then Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.

Then he said, "I have sinned; [yet] honor me now, please, before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD your God."

Then he said to David: "You [are] more righteous than I; for you have rewarded me with good, whereas I have rewarded you with evil.

And Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, "I have sinned this time. The LORD [is] righteous, and my people and I [are] wicked.

And Balaam said to the Angel of the LORD, "I have sinned, for I did not know You stood in the way against me. Now therefore, if it displeases You, I will turn back."

saying, "I have sinned by betraying innocent blood." And they said, "What [is that] to us? You see [to it!"]

And it was told Saul that David had fled to Gath; so he sought him no more.

"And indeed, as your life was valued much this day in my eyes, so let my life be valued much in the eyes of the LORD, and let Him deliver me out of all tribulation."

Then the princes of the Philistines went out [to war.] And so it was, whenever they went out, [that] David behaved more wisely than all the servants of Saul, so that his name became highly esteemed.

For the redemption of their souls [is] costly, And it shall cease forever --

Precious in the sight of the LORD [Is] the death of His saints.
