And Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered [it as] a whole burnt offering to the LORD. Then Samuel cried out to the LORD for Israel, and the LORD answered him.

But he always returned to Ramah, for his home [was] there. There he judged Israel, and there he built an altar to the LORD.

So it was, on the next morning, that the people rose early and built an altar there, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.

"For Israel has forgotten his Maker, And has built temples; Judah also has multiplied fortified cities; But I will send fire upon his cities, And it shall devour his palaces."

having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
