But Abram said, "Lord GOD, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house [is] Eliezer of Damascus?"

So Abraham said to the oldest servant of his house, who ruled over all that he had, "Please, put your hand under my thigh,

So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all [that] he had he put under his authority.

"So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, 'Call the laborers and give them [their] wages, beginning with the last to the first.'

" Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?

But Ruth said: "Entreat me not to leave you, [Or to] turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people [shall be] my people, And your God, my God.

Now the two of them went until they came to Bethlehem. And it happened, when they had come to Bethlehem, that all the city was excited because of them; and the women said, "[Is] this Naomi?"

So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess her daughter-in-law with her, who returned from the country of Moab. Now they came to Bethlehem at the beginning of barley harvest.
