Then he said to him, "Please go and see if it is well with your brothers and well with the flocks, and bring back word to me." So he sent him out of the Valley of Hebron, and he went to Shechem.

Then he asked them about [their] well-being, and said, "[Is] your father well, the old man of whom you spoke? [Is] he still alive?"

And David left his supplies in the hand of the supply keeper, ran to the army, and came and greeted his brothers.

"Please run now to meet her, and say to her, '[Is it] well with you? [Is it] well with your husband? [Is it] well with the child?' " And she answered, "[It is] well."

"And when you go into a household, greet it.

"If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.

"Carry neither money bag, knapsack, nor sandals; and greet no one along the road.

"And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you.

"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
