Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to test him with hard questions.

I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will disclose my dark saying on the harp.

To understand a proverb and an enigma, The words of the wise and their riddles.

"Son of man, pose a riddle, and speak a parable to the house of Israel,

Then I said, "Ah, Lord GOD! They say of me, 'Does he not speak parables?' "

"Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them,

So He told a parable to those who were invited, when He noted how they chose the best places, saying to them:

His disciples said to Him, "See, now You are speaking plainly, and using no figure of speech!

For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

"Fulfill her week, and we will give you this one also for the service which you will serve with me still another seven years."

Then Jacob did so and fulfilled her week. So he gave him his daughter Rachel as wife also.

At that time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly from the entrance of Hamath to the Brook of Egypt.

And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him.

Now a certain young man followed Him, having a linen cloth thrown around [his] naked [body.] And the young men laid hold of him,

and he left the linen cloth and fled from them naked.

He gave to all of them, to each man, changes of garments; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred [pieces] of silver and five changes of garments.

Then the king of Syria said, "Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel." So he departed and took with him ten talents of silver, six thousand [shekels] of gold, and ten changes of clothing.

And he said, "All [is] well. My master has sent me, saying, 'Indeed, just now two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the mountains of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of garments.' "

" Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;

Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.
