The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare the way of the LORD; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God.

The voice said, "Cry out!" And he said, "What shall I cry?" "All flesh [is] grass, And all its loveliness [is] like the flower of the field.

O Zion, You who bring good tidings, Get up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, You who bring good tidings, Lift up your voice with strength, Lift [it] up, be not afraid; Say to the cities of Judah, "Behold your God!"

Sing, O heavens, for the LORD has done [it!] Shout, you lower parts of the earth; Break forth into singing, you mountains, O forest, and every tree in it! For the LORD has redeemed Jacob, And glorified Himself in Israel.

How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good [things,] Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

Your watchmen shall lift up [their] voices, With their voices they shall sing together; For they shall see eye to eye When the LORD brings back Zion.

"Cry aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice like a trumpet; Tell My people their transgression, And the house of Jacob their sins.

"Set the trumpet to your mouth! [He shall come] like an eagle against the house of the LORD, Because they have transgressed My covenant And rebelled against My law.

The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth."

Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For [You] alone [are] holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments have been manifested."

Then a voice came from the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!"

And He said, "Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only [son,] from Me."

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD. An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked: [There is] no fear of God before his eyes.

God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, And to be held in reverence by all [those] around Him.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all.

For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.

Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,

And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.

Now Joshua said to Achan, "My son, I beg you, give glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession to Him, and tell me now what you have done; do not hide [it] from me."

"Therefore you shall make images of your tumors and images of your rats that ravage the land, and you shall give glory to the God of Israel; perhaps He will lighten His hand from you, from your gods, and from your land.

Let them give glory to the LORD, And declare His praise in the coastlands.

"standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.'

'For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.' Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance

"They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.'

"And you, son of man, thus says the Lord GOD to the land of Israel: 'An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land.

An end has come, The end has come; It has dawned for you; Behold, it has come!

And he said, "Look, I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation; for at the appointed time the end [shall be.]

"Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

"Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.

"and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.

"and come forth -- those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.

"You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."

For [in] six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that [is] in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

You alone [are] the LORD; You have made heaven, The heaven of heavens, with all their host, The earth and everything on it, The seas and all that is in them, And You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.

By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.

The sea [is] His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry [land.]

Our help [is] in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.

Happy [is he] who [has] the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope [is] in the LORD his God,

Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that [is] in them; Who keeps truth forever,

" The LORD possessed me at the beginning of His way, Before His works of old.

When [there were] no depths I was brought forth, When [there were] no fountains abounding with water.

While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, Or the primeval dust of the world.

When He established the clouds above, When He strengthened the fountains of the deep,

Then I was beside Him [as] a master craftsman; And I was daily [His] delight, Rejoicing always before Him,

But the LORD [is] the true God; He [is] the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, And the nations will not be able to endure His indignation.

and saying, "Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them,

"for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you:

"Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.
