"But if the princes hear that I have talked with you, and they come to you and say to you, 'Declare to us now what you have said to the king, and also what the king said to you; do not hide [it] from us, and we will not put you to death,'

Then all the princes came to Jeremiah and asked him. And he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they stopped speaking with him, for the conversation had not been heard.

If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which [temple] you are.

for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,

and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. [They are] presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries,

But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption,

"For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

They gathered together against Moses and Aaron, and said to them, "[You take] too much upon yourselves, for all the congregation [is] holy, every one of them, and the LORD [is] among them. Why then do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of the LORD?"

And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram the sons of Eliab, but they said, "We will not come up!

"[Is it] a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, that you should keep acting like a prince over us?

Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing?

"Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us."

Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure:

May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, [And] the tongue that speaks proud things,

"But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, 'We will not have this [man] to reign over us.'

"But he who did his neighbor wrong pushed him away, saying, 'Who made you a ruler and a judge over us?

"whom our fathers would not obey, but rejected. And in their hearts they turned back to Egypt,

Therefore he who rejects [this] does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.

Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"

But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves.

" You shall not revile God, nor curse a ruler of your people.

[There is] a generation [that] curses its father, And does not bless its mother.

The eye [that] mocks [his] father, And scorns obedience to [his] mother, The ravens of the valley will pick it out, And the young eagles will eat it.

Do not curse the king, even in your thought; Do not curse the rich, even in your bedroom; For a bird of the air may carry your voice, And a bird in flight may tell the matter.

Then Paul said, "I did not know, brethren, that he was the high priest; for it is written, 'You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.' "

Honor all [people.] Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
