The soul of a lazy [man] desires, and [has] nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.

The desire of the lazy [man] kills him, For his hands refuse to labor.

"Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.

And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end,

that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,

Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;
