For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."

For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth."

For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame."

God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying,

And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, [saying,] "In you all the nations shall be blessed."

Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"?

" You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out [the grain.]

For it is written in the law of Moses, "You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain." Is it oxen God is concerned about?

Or does He say [it] altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, [this] is written, that he who plows should plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope.

' You shall not cheat your neighbor, nor rob [him.] The wages of him who is hired shall not remain with you all night until morning.

" You shall not oppress a hired servant [who is] poor and needy, [whether] one of your brethren or one of the aliens who [is] in your land within your gates.

"Each day you shall give [him] his wages, and not let the sun go down on it, for he [is] poor and has set his heart on it; lest he cry out against you to the LORD, and it be sin to you.

"nor bag for [your] journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.

"And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house.
