" Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD [is] one!

" Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: 'I [am] the First and I [am] the Last; Besides Me [there is] no God.

Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments [is:] 'Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one.

"And the second, like [it, is] this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

"And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."

"And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Or [is He] the God of the Jews only? [Is He] not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also,

since [there is] one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.

yet for us [there is] one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom [are] all things, and through whom we [live.]

Now a mediator does not [mediate] for one [only,] but God is one.

one God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all.

Nor is there any mediator between us, [Who] may lay his hand on us both.

Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than [that of] Abel.

"Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."

Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.

"For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

And so it is written, "The first man Adam became a living being." The last Adam [became] a life-giving spirit.

The first man [was] of the earth, [made] of dust; the second Man [is] the Lord from heaven.

who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to [the point of] death, even the death of the cross.

But one testified in a certain place, saying: "What is man that You are mindful of him, Or the son of man that You take care of him?

You have put all things in subjection under his feet." For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing [that is] not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him.

For it was fitting for Him, for whom [are] all things and by whom [are] all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

saying: "I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You."

and in the midst of the seven lampstands [One] like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band.
