And David said to Gad, "I am in great distress. Please let us fall into the hand of the LORD, for His mercies [are] great; but do not let me fall into the hand of man."

For you yourselves know, brethren, that our coming to you was not in vain.

For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed [it] not [as] the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.

"But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished!

You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your [own] affections.

"Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, According to Your word;

For my eyes have seen Your salvation

Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.

And after my skin is destroyed, this [I know,] That in my flesh I shall see God,

Whom I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. [How] my heart yearns within me!

But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, For He shall receive me. Selah

Now the man from whom the demons had departed begged Him that he might be with Him. But Jesus sent him away, saying,

And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise."

"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, [there] you may be also.

"Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on [God] and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."

We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

Then we who are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Write: 'Blessed [are] the dead who die in the Lord from now on.' " "Yes," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them."

For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence [is] fullness of joy; At Your right hand [are] pleasures forevermore.

As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.

You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me [to] glory.

My flesh and my heart fail; [But] God [is] the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

"They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat;
