My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation [is] from Him.

The hope of the righteous [will be] gladness, But the expectation of the wicked will perish.

For surely there is a hereafter, And your hope will not be cut off.

For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.

O my God, I trust in You; Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies triumph over me.

Let my heart be blameless regarding Your statutes, That I may not be ashamed.

Uphold me according to Your word, that I may live; And do not let me be ashamed of my hope.

[But] Israel shall be saved by the LORD With an everlasting salvation; You shall not be ashamed or disgraced Forever and ever.

" For the Lord GOD will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.

" Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; Neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; For you will forget the shame of your youth, And will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

As it is written: "Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame."

For if in anything I have boasted to him about you, I am not ashamed. But as we spoke all things to you in truth, even so our boasting to Titus was found true.

For even if I should boast somewhat more about our authority, which the Lord gave us for edification and not for your destruction, I shall not be ashamed --

and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,

for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Yet if [anyone suffers] as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.

And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

Now thanks [be] to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

To the one [we are] the aroma of death [leading] to death, and to the other the aroma of life [leading] to life. And who [is] sufficient for these things?

Yes, and if I am being poured out [as a drink offering] on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.

And do not present your members [as] instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members [as] instruments of righteousness to God.

I speak in human [terms] because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members [as] slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness [leading] to [more] lawlessness, so now present your members [as] slaves [of] righteousness for holiness.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your reasonable service.

For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

There is a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world -- how she may please [her] husband.

and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For I am hard pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, [which is] far better.

Nevertheless to remain in the flesh [is] more needful for you.

" Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this purpose I came to this hour.

"Father, glorify Your name." Then a voice came from heaven, [saying,] "I have both glorified [it] and will glorify [it] again."

This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, "Follow Me."

"But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

Then Paul answered, "What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus."

For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.

For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.

I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church,

For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth.

knowing that shortly I [must] put off my tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ showed me.
