" And this land, [which] we possessed at that time, from Aroer, which [is] by the River Arnon, and half the mountains of Gilead and its cities, I gave to the Reubenites and the Gadites.

from Aroer, which [is] on the bank of the River Arnon, even to Mount Sion (that is, Hermon),

from Aroer which [is] on the bank of the River Arnon, and the town that [is] in the midst of the ravine, and all the plain of Medeba as far as Dibon;

The cities of Aroer [are] forsaken; They will be for flocks Which lie down, and no one will make [them] afraid.

O inhabitant of Aroer, Stand by the way and watch; Ask him who flees And her who escapes; Say, 'What has happened?'

"No man shall [be able to] stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, [so] I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.

For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, Nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favored them.

"Behold, I will make you into a new threshing sledge with sharp teeth; You shall thresh the mountains and beat [them] small, And make the hills like chaff.

You shall winnow them, the wind shall carry them away, And the whirlwind shall scatter them; You shall rejoice in the LORD, [And] glory in the Holy One of Israel.

What then shall we say to these things? If God [is] for us, who [can be] against us?
