"Now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the judgments which I teach you to observe, that you may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers is giving you.

"You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

"Surely I have taught you statutes and judgments, just as the LORD my God commanded me, that you should act according [to them] in the land which you go to possess.

These [are] the testimonies, the statutes, and the judgments which Moses spoke to the children of Israel after they came out of Egypt,

"Now this [is] the commandment, [and these are] the statutes and judgments which the LORD your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe [them] in the land which you are crossing over to possess,

"that you may fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.

"Take heed to yourself that you do not forsake the Levite as long as you live in your land.

"And [take heed,] lest you lift your eyes to heaven, and [when] you see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, you feel driven to worship them and serve them, which the LORD your God has given to all the peoples under the whole heaven as a heritage.

"that they may fear You all the days that they live in the land which You gave to our fathers.

"[Is there] not a time of hard service for man on earth? [Are not] his days also like the days of a hired man?

I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

While I live I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
