He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart;

For the LORD God [is] a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good [thing] will He withhold From those who walk uprightly.

He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; [He is] a shield to those who walk uprightly;

He who walks with integrity walks securely, But he who perverts his ways will become known.

to whom we did not yield submission even for an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that [there is] nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him [it is] unclean.

forbidding to marry, [and commanding] to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

[concerned] only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation.

Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed;

' You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.

Let the righteous strike me; [It shall be] a kindness. And let him rebuke me; [It shall be] as excellent oil; Let my head not refuse it. For still my prayer [is] against the deeds of the wicked.

Open rebuke [is] better Than love carefully concealed.

Faithful [are] the wounds of a friend, But the kisses of an enemy [are] deceitful.

Those who are sinning rebuke in the presence of all, that the rest also may fear.

for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.

And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.

Then he said to them, "You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

saying, "You went in to uncircumcised men and ate with them!"

"I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, an object descending like a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came to me.

"And I heard a voice saying to me, 'Rise, Peter; kill and eat.'

"But the voice answered me again from heaven, 'What God has cleansed you must not call common.'

"At that very moment, three men stood before the house where I was, having been sent to me from Caesarea.

"And he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house, who said to him, 'Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon whose surname is Peter,

"And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.

"If therefore God gave them the same gift as [He gave] us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?"

Yet not even Titus who [was] with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.

As many as desire to make a good showing in the flesh, these [would] compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

"Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

"But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they."

"Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among the Gentiles who are turning to God,

"For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath."
