And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.

[Are] all apostles? [Are] all prophets? [Are] all teachers? [Are] all workers of miracles?

"And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with [them] and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.

"Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high."

" Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater [works] than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, [does He do it] by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? --

God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

Pursue love, and desire spiritual [gifts,] but especially that you may prophesy.

But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.

I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies [is] greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.

But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all.

For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged.

And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues.

Then the LORD came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that [was] upon him, and placed [the same] upon the seventy elders; and it happened, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, although they never did [so] again.

And a young man ran and told Moses, and said, "Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp."

Then Moses said to him, "Are you zealous for my sake? Oh, that all the LORD's people were prophets [and] that the LORD would put His Spirit upon them!"

When they came there to the hill, there was a group of prophets to meet him; then the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.

Then a man from there answered and said, "But who [is] their father?" Therefore it became a proverb: "[Is] Saul also among the prophets?"

Then Saul sent messengers to take David. And when they saw the group of prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing [as] leader over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.

Then he also went to Ramah, and came to the great well that [is] at Sechu. So he asked, and said, "Where [are] Samuel and David?" And [someone] said, "Indeed [they are] at Naioth in Ramah."

And he also stripped off his clothes and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, "[Is] Saul also among the prophets?"

Now these [are] the last words of David. [Thus] says David the son of Jesse; [Thus] says the man raised up on high, The anointed of the God of Jacob, And the sweet psalmist of Israel:

"The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, And His word [was] on my tongue.

" And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.

"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own [authority,] but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.

And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.

"Men [and] brethren, let [me] speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

"Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,

Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.

Now this man had four virgin daughters who prophesied.

And as we stayed many days, a certain prophet named Agabus came down from Judea.

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, [let us use them:] if prophecy, [let us prophesy] in proportion to our faith;

Do not despise prophecies.

knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,

for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke [as they were] moved by the Holy Spirit.

Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.

But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back [part] of the price of the land for yourself?

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

"I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars;

Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands [him;] however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.

"And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.

"And how [is it that] we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?

"Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,

So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, "Whatever could this mean?"

For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered,

"Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we [have?"]

And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?

How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.

But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God.
