that, as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory in the LORD."

For who makes you differ [from another?] And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive [it,] why do you boast as if you had not received [it?]

Your glorying [is] not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?

Those who trust in their wealth And boast in the multitude of their riches,

Shall the ax boast itself against him who chops with it? [Or] shall the saw exalt itself against him who saws with it? As if a rod could wield [itself] against those who lift it up, [Or] as if a staff could lift up, [as if it were] not wood!

Thus says the LORD: "Let not the wise [man] glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty [man] glory in his might, Nor let the rich [man] glory in his riches;

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith.

For if Abraham was justified by works, he has [something] to boast about, but not before God.

Therefore I have reason to glory in Christ Jesus in the things [which pertain] to God.

not of works, lest anyone should boast.
