For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?

But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for [it] with perseverance.

Yet the righteous will hold to his way, And he who has clean hands will be stronger and stronger.

Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!

Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

Wait on the LORD, And keep His way, And He shall exalt you to inherit the land; When the wicked are cut off, you shall see [it.]

The LORD [is] good to those who wait for Him, To the soul [who] seeks Him.

[It is] good that [one] should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the LORD.

"And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

"But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

"But the ones [that] fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep [it] and bear fruit with patience.

From that [time] many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.

But Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.

For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See [how] the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.

You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

"Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw [some] of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death." '

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy [to be compared] with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory,

"How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that [comes] from the only God?

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward [man] is being renewed day by day.

while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen [are] temporary, but the things which are not seen [are] eternal.

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

that the genuineness of your faith, [being] much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see [Him,] yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,

but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed [are you,] for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality.

So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."

but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, [who] has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

For the wages of sin [is] death, but the gift of God [is] eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

And this is the promise that He has promised us -- eternal life.
