Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus,

Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

Also the hand of God was on Judah to give them singleness of heart to obey the command of the king and the leaders, at the word of the LORD.

'then I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them.

Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.

Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and [that] there be no divisions among you, but [that] you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel,

fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, [being] of one accord, of one mind.

[Let] nothing [be done] through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.

Nevertheless, to [the degree] that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.

I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord.

Finally, all [of you be] of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, [be] tenderhearted, [be] courteous;

A Song of Ascents. Of David. LORD, my heart is not haughty, Nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, Nor with things too profound for me.

Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, Like a weaned child with his mother; Like a weaned child [is] my soul within me.

"And do you seek great things for yourself? Do not seek [them;] for behold, I will bring adversity on all flesh," says the LORD. "But I will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go." ' "

At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"

and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

And He said to her, "What do you wish?" She said to Him, "Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom."

So He said to them, "You will indeed drink My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but [it is for those] for whom it is prepared by My Father."

But Jesus called them to [Himself] and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them.

"And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave --

And the devil said to Him, "All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for [this] has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.

And Jesus answered and said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.' "

"For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you,'

Now there was also a dispute among them, as to which of them should be considered the greatest.

"But not so [among] you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves.

nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock;

I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, does not receive us.

It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.

All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

"If I have despised the cause of my male or female servant When they complained against me,

Did not He who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same One fashion us in the womb?

"Behold, God [is] mighty, but despises [no one;] [He is] mighty in strength of understanding.

He who mocks the poor reproaches his Maker; He who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished.

All the brothers of the poor hate him; How much more do his friends go far from him! He may pursue [them with] words, [yet] they abandon [him.]

He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, And He will pay back what he has given.

What is desired in a man is kindness, And a poor man is better than a liar.

" Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

"[The] blind see and [the] lame walk; [the] lepers are cleansed and [the] deaf hear; [the] dead are raised up and [the] poor have the gospel preached to them.

"For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.

Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said: "Blessed [are you] poor, For yours is the kingdom of God.

"But when you give a feast, invite [the] poor, [the] maimed, [the] lame, [the] blind.

Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

[Let your] conduct [be] without covetousness; [be] content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."

Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world [to be] rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts?

For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil.

Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? [There is] more hope for a fool than for him.

Woe to [those who are] wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight!

Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.

We [are] fools for Christ's sake, but you [are] wise in Christ! We [are] weak, but you [are] strong! You [are] distinguished, but we [are] dishonored!

I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren?

And if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.

Who [is] wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct [that] his works [are done] in the meekness of wisdom.

This wisdom does not descend from above, but [is] earthly, sensual, demonic.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
