"Brethren and fathers, hear my defense before you now."

And when he had said this, a dissension arose between the Pharisees and the Sadducees; and the assembly was divided.

Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.

Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He [is] the King of glory. Selah

The voice of the LORD [is] over the waters; The God of glory thunders; The LORD [is] over many waters.

And one cried to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy [is] the LORD of hosts; The whole earth [is] full of His glory!"

And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

"Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

These things Isaiah said when he saw His glory and spoke of Him.

whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to [give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

who being the brightness of [His] glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

"You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."

saying with a loud voice: "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!"

And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: "Blessing and honor and glory and power [Be] to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!"

Now the LORD had said to Abram: "Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you.

"You [are] the LORD God, Who chose Abram, And brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans, And gave him the name Abraham;

Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah [who] bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him."

And Joshua said to all the people, "Thus says the LORD God of Israel: 'Your fathers, [including] Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor, dwelt on the other side of the River in old times; and they served other gods.

And Terah took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram's wife, and they went out with them from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran and dwelt there.

Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan.

And Jacob said to them, "My brethren, where [are] you from?" And they said, "We [are] from Haran."
