"saying to Aaron, 'Make us gods to go before us; [as for] this Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.'

And Abimelech said, "I do not know who has done this thing; you did not tell me, nor had I heard [of it] until today."

But he refused and said to his master's wife, "Look, my master does not know what [is] with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand.

And Joseph said to them, "What deed [is] this you have done? Did you not know that such a man as I can certainly practice divination?"

Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, "Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for [as for] this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him."

"Therefore please come at once, curse this people for me, for they [are] too mighty for me. Perhaps I shall be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land, for I know that he whom you bless [is] blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed."

God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying,

But if [I] live on in the flesh, this [will mean] fruit from [my] labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell.

"For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they did not know Him, nor even the voices of the Prophets which are read every Sabbath, have fulfilled [them] in condemning [Him.]

'then it will be, if it is unintentionally committed, without the knowledge of the congregation, that the whole congregation shall offer one young bull as a burnt offering, as a sweet aroma to the LORD, with its grain offering and its drink offering, according to the ordinance, and one kid of the goats as a sin offering.

'It shall be forgiven the whole congregation of the children of Israel and the stranger who dwells among them, because all the people [did it] unintentionally.

'So the priest shall make atonement for the person who sins unintentionally, when he sins unintentionally before the LORD, to make atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.

' But the person who does [anything] presumptuously, [whether he is] native-born or a stranger, that one brings reproach on the LORD, and he shall be cut off from among his people.

Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." And they divided His garments and cast lots.

"But look! He speaks boldly, and they say nothing to Him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is truly the Christ?

"However, we know where this Man is from; but when the Christ comes, no one knows where He is from."

They answered and said to him, "Are you also from Galilee? Search and look, for no prophet has arisen out of Galilee."

"And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me.

which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the [veil] is taken away in Christ.

although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did [it] ignorantly in unbelief.
