When we had sailed slowly many days, and arrived with difficulty off Cnidus, the wind not permitting us to proceed, we sailed under [the shelter of] Crete off Salmone.

And because the harbor was not suitable to winter in, the majority advised to set sail from there also, if by any means they could reach Phoenix, a harbor of Crete opening toward the southwest and northwest, [and] winter [there.]

For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city as I commanded you --

One of them, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans [are] always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons."

besides [that] from the traveling merchants, from the income of traders, from all the kings of Arabia, and from the governors of the country.

God helped him against the Philistines, against the Arabians who lived in Gur Baal, and against the Meunites.

It will never be inhabited, Nor will it be settled from generation to generation; Nor will the Arabian pitch tents there, Nor will the shepherds make their sheepfolds there.

The burden against Arabia. In the forest in Arabia you will lodge, O you traveling companies of Dedanites.

"Lift up your eyes to the desolate heights and see: Where have you not lain [with men?] By the road you have sat for them Like an Arabian in the wilderness; And you have polluted the land With your harlotries and your wickedness.

for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children --

"Who [is] like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who [is] like You, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders?

He does great things past finding out, Yes, wonders without number.

That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, And tell of all Your wondrous works.

Many, O LORD my God, [are] Your wonderful works [Which] You have done; And Your thoughts toward us Cannot be recounted to You in order; [If] I would declare and speak [of them,] They are more than can be numbered.

O God, You have taught me from my youth; And to this [day] I declare Your wondrous works.

I will remember the works of the LORD; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old.

We will not hide [them] from their children, Telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.

And the heavens will praise Your wonders, O LORD; Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the saints.

Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.

Oh, that [men] would give thanks to the LORD [for] His goodness, And [for] His wonderful works to the children of men!

He has made His wonderful works to be remembered; The LORD [is] gracious and full of compassion.

To Him who alone does great wonders, For His mercy [endures] forever;

O LORD, You [are] my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, For You have done wonderful [things;] [Your] counsels of old [are] faithfulness [and] truth.

This also comes from the LORD of hosts, [Who] is wonderful in counsel [and] excellent in guidance.

I thought it good to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked for me.

How great [are] His signs, And how mighty His wonders! His kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, And His dominion [is] from generation to generation.

to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another [different] kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.

God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?
