But the Jews who were not persuaded, becoming envious, took some of the evil men from the marketplace, and gathering a mob, set all the city in an uproar and attacked the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

"But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in [yourselves,] nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.

For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus. For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they [did] from the Judeans,

forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, so as always to fill up [the measure of] their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.

And they stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes; and they came upon [him,] seized him, and brought [him] to the council.

But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brethren.

Now when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews from Asia, seeing him in the temple, stirred up the whole crowd and laid hands on him,

But there was no one like Ahab who sold himself to do wickedness in the sight of the LORD, because Jezebel his wife stirred him up.

A wrathful man stirs up strife, But [he who is] slow to anger allays contention.

He who is of a proud heart stirs up strife, But he who trusts in the LORD will be prospered.

"Do [you] suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division.
