Then Paul stood up, and motioning with [his] hand said, "Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen:

And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander motioned with his hand, and wanted to make his defense to the people.

So when he had given him permission, Paul stood on the stairs and motioned with his hand to the people. And when there was a great silence, he spoke to [them] in the Hebrew language, saying,

But when he came out, he could not speak to them; and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple, for he beckoned to them and remained speechless.

Simon Peter therefore motioned to him to ask who it was of whom He spoke.

Come [and] hear, all you who fear God, And I will declare what He has done for my soul.

To hear the groaning of the prisoner, To release those appointed to death,

To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, And His praise in Jerusalem,

Oh, that [men] would give thanks to the LORD [for] His goodness, And [for] His wonderful works to the children of men!

Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare His works with rejoicing.

I will pay my vows to the LORD Now in the presence of all His people.

Precious in the sight of the LORD [Is] the death of His saints.

Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The LORD gives freedom to the prisoners.

And after they had become silent, James answered, saying, "Men [and] brethren, listen to me:

On the following [day] Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present.

After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles.

But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord's brother.

and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we [should go] to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.

James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings.

So they went out of the prison and entered [the house of] Lydia; and when they had seen the brethren, they encouraged them and departed.

"When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for He did not want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him.

Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

And He went away again beyond the Jordan to the place where John was baptizing at first, and there He stayed.

Therefore Jesus no longer walked openly among the Jews, but went from there into the country near the wilderness, to a city called Ephraim, and there remained with His disciples.
