And the sons of the prophets said to Elisha, "See now, the place where we dwell with you is too small for us.

Then one said, "Please consent to go with your servants." And he answered, "I will go."

But as one was cutting down a tree, the iron [ax head] fell into the water; and he cried out and said, "Alas, master! For it was borrowed."

Therefore he said, "Pick [it] up for yourself." So he reached out his hand and took it.

And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

They immediately left [their] nets and followed Him.

and so also [were] James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men."

So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him.

So, because he was of the same trade, he stayed with them and worked; for by occupation they were tentmakers.

"Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those who were with me.

Or [is it] only Barnabas and I [who] have no right to refrain from working?

For you remember, brethren, our labor and toil; for laboring night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.

For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us, for we were not disorderly among you;

not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should follow us.

But Simon answered and said to Him, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net."

So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.
