Jesus wept.

Then the Jews said, "See how He loved him!"

Jesus answered and said, "This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake.

"And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.

And the LORD appeared to him the same night and said, "I [am] the God of your father Abraham; do not fear, for I [am] with you. I will bless you and multiply your descendants for My servant Abraham's sake."

So it was, from the time [that] he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had in the house and in the field.

He permitted no one to do them wrong; Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes,

Indeed they shall surely assemble, [but] not because of Me. Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake.

Thus says the LORD: "As the new wine is found in the cluster, And [one] says, 'Do not destroy it, For a blessing [is] in it,' So will I do for My servants' sake, That I may not destroy them all.

For all things [are] for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

When Jesus heard [that,] He said, "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it."

This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

"Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own [authority;] but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.

"Believe Me that I [am] in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may [continue to] believe in the name of the Son of God.
