When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell.

But the path of the just [is] like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.

The way of the wicked [is] like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble.

The wise man's eyes [are] in his head, But the fool walks in darkness. Yet I myself perceived That the same event happens to them all.

Give glory to the LORD your God Before He causes darkness, And before your feet stumble On the dark mountains, And while you are looking for light, He turns it into the shadow of death [And] makes [it] dense darkness.

But the LORD [is] with me as a mighty, awesome One. Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and will not prevail. They will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper. [Their] everlasting confusion will never be forgotten.

He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.

But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
