And Elijah came to all the people, and said, "How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD [is] God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But the people answered him not a word.

and said to Him, "Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?"

Now as the people were in expectation, and all reasoned in their hearts about John, whether he was the Christ [or] not,

Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, "Who are you?"

Then they said to Him, "Who are You?" And Jesus said to them, "Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.

"Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead. Whom do You make Yourself out to be?"

His parents said these [things] because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had agreed already that if anyone confessed [that] He [was] Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue.

"If You are the Christ, tell us." But He said to them, "If I tell you, you will by no means believe.

"Hereafter the Son of Man will sit on the right hand of the power of God."

Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech --
