Then the men of David said to him, "This is the day of which the LORD said to you, 'Behold, I will deliver your enemy into your hand, that you may do to him as it seems good to you.' " And David arose and secretly cut off a corner of Saul's robe.

And he said to his men, "The LORD forbid that I should do this thing to my master, the LORD's anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, seeing he [is] the anointed of the LORD."

Then Abishai said to David, "God has delivered your enemy into your hand this day. Now therefore, please, let me strike him at once with the spear, right to the earth; and I will not [have to strike] him a second time!"

David said furthermore, "[As] the LORD lives, the LORD shall strike him, or his day shall come to die, or he shall go out to battle and perish.

And David said, "What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah, that you should be adversaries to me today? Shall any man be put to death today in Israel? For do I not know that today I [am] king over Israel?"

"If I have rejoiced at the destruction of him who hated me, Or lifted myself up when evil found him

If the men of my tent have not said, 'Who is there that has not been satisfied with his meat?'

Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise [man,] and he will love you.

But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."

"As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock; and he said to them, "Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?"

Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, "Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them."

But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips.

To whom have you uttered words? And whose spirit came from you?

Let us choose justice for ourselves; Let us know among ourselves what [is] good.

Should I lie concerning my right? My wound [is] incurable, [though I am] without transgression.'

Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, And walks with wicked men?

"Do you think this is right? Do you say, 'My righteousness is more than God's'?

" I will answer you, And your companions with you.

Therefore I abhor [myself,] And repent in dust and ashes."

" The heart [is] deceitful above all [things,] And desperately wicked; Who can know it?

Peter answered and said to Him, "Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble."

"Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak."

And suddenly, one of those [who were] with Jesus stretched out [his] hand and drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

"of sin, because they do not believe in Me;

Then Paul said to him, "God will strike you, [you] whitewashed wall! For you sit to judge me according to the law, and do you command me to be struck contrary to the law?"

Then Paul said, "I did not know, brethren, that he was the high priest; for it is written, 'You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.' "

"Indeed, I myself thought I must do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.

"And I punished them often in every synagogue and compelled [them] to blaspheme; and being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted [them] even to foreign cities.

Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
