But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answered and said to them, "Why are you reasoning in your hearts?

Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw [this,] he spoke to himself, saying, "This man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman [this is] who is touching Him, for she is a sinner."

And Jesus answered and said to him, "Simon, I have something to say to you." So he said, "Teacher, say it."

You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;

I, the LORD, search the heart, [I] test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.

and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man.

"Now we are sure that You know all things, and have no need that anyone should question You. By this we believe that You came forth from God."

He said to him the third time, "Simon, [son] of Jonah, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.

And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things [are] naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we [must give] account.

"I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.

Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them,

"Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Then little children were brought to Him that He might put [His] hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.

And He laid [His] hands on them and departed from there.

But when Jesus saw [it,] He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

"Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it."

Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature.

Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,

as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
