So they answered him, "A hairy man wearing a leather belt around his waist." And he said, "It [is] Elijah the Tishbite."

For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, And was clad with zeal as a cloak.

And John himself was clothed in camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey.

Do not let your adornment be [merely] outward -- arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on [fine] apparel --

rather [let it be] the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible [beauty] of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

"I [am] today eighty years old. Can I discern between the good and bad? Can your servant taste what I eat or what I drink? Can I hear any longer the voice of singing men and singing women? Why then should your servant be a further burden to my lord the king?

[that] in the third year of his reign he made a feast for all his officials and servants -- the powers of Persia and Media, the nobles, and the princes of the provinces [being] before him --

He went as far as the front of the king's gate, for no one [might] enter the king's gate clothed with sackcloth.

Now it happened on the third day that Esther put on [her] royal [robes] and stood in the inner court of the king's palace, across from the king's house, while the king sat on his royal throne in the royal house, facing the entrance of the house.

So Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, with a great crown of gold and a garment of fine linen and purple; and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.

"and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
