Hezron begot Ram, and Ram begot Amminadab;

Amminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon;

Also the sons of Hezron who were born to him [were] Jerahmeel, Ram, and Chelubai.

Ram begot Amminadab, and Amminadab begot Nahshon, leader of the children of Judah;

Judah begot Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez begot Hezron, and Hezron begot Ram.

Ram begot Amminadab, Amminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon.

The sons of Judah [were] Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah (but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan). The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.

And the sons of Judah according to their families were: [of] Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; [of] Perez, the family of the Parzites; [of] Zerah, the family of the Zarhites.

And the sons of Perez were: [of] Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; [of] Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.

Then it happened, as he drew back his hand, that his brother came out unexpectedly; and she said, "How did you break through? [This] breach [be] upon you!" Therefore his name was called Perez.

"May your house be like the house of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah, because of the offspring which the LORD will give you from this young woman."

And Tamar, his daughter-in-law, bore him Perez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah [were] five.

The sons of Perez [were] Hezron and Hamul.

Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the descendants of Perez, the son of Judah.

And she conceived again and bore a son, and said, "Now I will praise the LORD." Therefore she called his name Judah. Then she stopped bearing.

"Judah, you [are he] whom your brothers shall praise; Your hand [shall be] on the neck of your enemies; Your father's children shall bow down before you.

Abraham begot Isaac, Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot Judah and his brothers.
