Then He said to them, "Why do you sleep? Rise and pray, lest you enter into temptation."

And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one."

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep [me] from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested.

Uphold my steps in Your paths, [That] my footsteps may not slip.

Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous [sins;] Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression.

Uphold me according to Your word, that I may live; And do not let me be ashamed of my hope.

Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me.

Remove falsehood and lies far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches -- Feed me with the food allotted to me;

Lest I be full and deny [You,] And say, "Who [is] the LORD?" Or lest I be poor and steal, And profane the name of my God.

And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
