And has raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of His servant David,

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

"And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins."

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

who has saved us and called [us] with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,

but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, [who] has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.

teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,

who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself [His] own special people, zealous for good works.

But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared,

whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son [as] Savior of the world.

Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,

"And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins."

And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

"But why [is] this [granted] to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

And He said to them, "How can they say that the Christ is the Son of David?

"Now David himself said in the Book of Psalms: 'The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand,

And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel."

The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor a lawgiver from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes; And to Him [shall be] the obedience of the people.

The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the LORD and against His Anointed, [saying,]

" Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.

"And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it [shall be] with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah" (which is translated, the Christ).

Philip found Nathanael and said to him, "We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote -- Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph."

"Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

Now some of them from Jerusalem said, "Is this not He whom they seek to kill?

"However, we know where this Man is from; but when the Christ comes, no one knows where He is from."

but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

"Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."

explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and [saying,] "This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ."

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.

"But why [is] this [granted] to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

"Now David himself said in the Book of Psalms: 'The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand,

"Therefore David calls Him 'Lord'; how is He then his Son?"

"The word which [God] sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ -- He is Lord of all --

The first man [was] of the earth, [made] of dust; the second Man [is] the Lord from heaven.

and [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ

As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
