"Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as [our] father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

"Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.'

And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham;

"Men [and] brethren, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to you the word of this salvation has been sent.

and the father of circumcision to those who not only [are] of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of the faith which our father Abraham [had while still] uncircumcised.

For if those who are of the law [are] heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect,

Therefore [it is] of faith that [it might be] according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all

And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise [herself] up.

"You are of [your] father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and [does not] stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own [resources,] for he is a liar and the father of it.

and [that] they may come to their senses [and escape] the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to [do] his will.

But when Jesus saw her, He called [her] to [Him] and said to her, "Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity."

And He said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
