The wicked watches the righteous, And seeks to slay him.

The LORD will not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged.

All day they twist my words; All their thoughts [are] against me for evil.

They gather together, They hide, they mark my steps, When they lie in wait for my life.

Then the Pharisees went and plotted how they might entangle Him in [His] talk.

But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, "Why do you test Me, [you] hypocrites?

Then one of them, a lawyer, asked [Him a question,] testing Him, and saying,

Then they sent to Him some of the Pharisees and the Herodians, to catch Him in [His] words.
