"Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to what I command you.

"Then you shall take [it] to your father, that he may eat [it,] and that he may bless you before his death."

He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother advised him to do wickedly.

Therefore he did evil in the sight of the LORD, like the house of Ahab; for they were his counselors after the death of his father, to his destruction.

"and say: 'What [is] your mother? A lioness: She lay down among the lions; Among the young lions she nourished her cubs.

She brought up one of her cubs, And he became a young lion; He learned to catch prey, And he devoured men.

So she, having been prompted by her mother, said, "Give me John the Baptist's head here on a platter."

If the men of my tent have not said, 'Who is there that has not been satisfied with his meat?'

When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell.

The wicked plots against the just, And gnashes at him with his teeth.

The wicked have drawn the sword And have bent their bow, To cast down the poor and needy, To slay those who are of upright conduct.

A stone [is] heavy and sand [is] weighty, But a fool's wrath [is] heavier than both of them.

Wrath [is] cruel and anger a torrent, But who [is] able to stand before jealousy?

And when it was day, some of the Jews banded together and bound themselves under an oath, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.

Now there were more than forty who had formed this conspiracy.
